The Catholic Church is the largest religion in the world. With over 1.5 billion members, the Church has earned her place in human history. Despite this, not many know of the Catholic Church and the contributions the Church has offered humanity. Others have attacked what they think the Catholic Church is. The Venerable Fulton John Sheen once said, “There are not one hundred people in the United States who hate The Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they wrongly perceive the Catholic Church to be.” This book introduces the Catholic Church, her teachings, contributions and offers apologetics against the arguments made by Protestants, Atheists, the LGBT movement, Pro-Abortion supporters and others. This book will make Catholics feel proud of their faith and educate them on how to defend the Church. It will also remove misconceptions some hold against the Catholic Church using facts and reliable sources.

Introduction to the Catholic Church Sacerdotus 9781518715570 Books

This book follows his masterpiece " Atheism is Stupid", and this one too will follow in the same track.
Not only does it intersperse a wonderful summary of the history of the Catholic Church throughout this quick & easy read , but it is a valuable tool for an informed apologetics, and a happy hunting ground/ springboard to study it's many subjects. Not only do you learn the substance of the church and her teachings, you also will quickly learn and understand how to answer protestants, atheists, & The pro abortion & "Gay" marriage stances. He also has a nice summary on the scandals in the church. Each chapter is short and sweet & to the point.
On page 32 , he says " Human beings love authenticity. Anyone or anything that fails being measured against truth loses credibility."
I couldn't agree more.
He passes the test ! His credibility is a rock on solid foundation.
And I end this review with a playful rearrangement of Cardinl Newman's statement; to be deep in Sacerdotus is to cease being ignorant.

Introduction to the Catholic Church Sacerdotus 9781518715570 Books Reviews

I would like to review a book completed by my friend through social media Sacerdotus who witnesses daily to the truth of the Catholic Church. His book is a basic Apologetics book to get you up and running to defend your faith against all those who would try to take it away. The best way to keep the faith is to spread it. This book will help you do just that by breaking down a lot of attacks against the truth of the Catholic Church. Here is a excerpt that I felt hit back against Solo Scriptura which is the fallacy that one only needs the Bible and nothing else.

In reality, we need the Church (Magisterium), Bible and Tradition. The Magisterium teaches the truth found in the Sacred Deposit Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. She is the “pillar of truth” as we read in 1 Timothy 315. Since the Catholic Church is the foundation and pillar of truth, then it makes sense that only the Church can interpret this truth and present it to the world. Scripture itself states that its contents are not open to personal and private interpretation (2 Peter 120). In fact, we see in Acts 830-31 how the Ethiopian man needed the help of Philip in order to understand a reading from the prophet Isaiah. Hebrews 512 tells us that we need someone to teach us Scripture. This task belongs to the Church with her bishops who are the teachers of the faith (Luke 1016; CCC 888; Lumen Gentium 25, Dei Verbum 10). When Sacred Scripture is interpreted freely by individuals, this results to irrational doctrines and 26 heresies which discredit Christianity. Moreover, this leads to the founding of new sects with each claiming to be the "true church." The magisterium of the Church is needed in order to give the authentic interpretation of Scripture via the guidance of the Holy Spirit who is the Paraclete or Helper (John 1416). We see in Sacred Scripture how extra Scriptural sources are used in order to resolve doctrinal issues. In Acts 15 verses 1 through 14, we read of how Peter sorts out the issue of the necessity of circumcision without relying solely on Scripture.

This book will help you defend the faith against Solo Fide, Our Lady, devotion to the Saints, the Rosary, the Papacy, Confession, Holy Eucharist, transubstantiation, sacramentals, answering atheists, the inquisition, the crusades, Galileo, the Gospels validity and the Bible, Pro choice debunked, and Marriage vs. Gay Marriage. You will be armed and ready with logical defenses of the truth. This will help you to understand and defend your faith more and more. Get this book to arm yourself against many of the attacks against the faith and to explain the faith better than ever before to your friends, family, and all those who desire to know the truth found in the Catholic Church.
Great introductory level apologetics book that hits hard! The author did an excellent job providing evidence that supports Catholicism, as well as, strong arguments against the ideas that attack the faith today. He did his homework and then some! I highly recommend this book! Once you read this book, you will feel empowered to defend the faith with confidence.
I'm a big fan of Catholic Apologetics, and was eager to read this new book by @Sacerdotus as I enjoy his frequent demolishing of atheist arguments on twitter. My overall opinion is that this book is a great introduction to The Catholic faith suitable for all, whether you are a newcomer to Christianity and trying to discern the true Church of Christ, or for a cradle catholic who doesn't know the faith and can't answer/reply to questions/accusations by protestants, or even someone well versed in the faith and needs a refresher. The book starts with a general history of the church and covers all the usual objections to Catholicism - faith alone, bible alone, statues, Mary, Peter, Saints, crusades, Galileo, The Inquisition, etc. and as I expected there's a good section on atheism. A thoroughly good read.
If you want easy to understand, well explained and thoroughly researched, this book is for you. No complaints.
