This is for sure a thought-provoking story that I enjoyed reading. At first we think that this is a book about a girl growing up with drug addict parents and all that she has to endure because of it. But soon we learn that this is a love story about a girl who was raised by drug addicts who falls in love with a drug addict.Lilly the protagonist of the story seems honest and truthful about her story but we only see things through her eyes. Is Chance really the guy she is telling us he is? Or is he a player who saw an opportunity to have his way with an innocent girl.

This is a story about a young girl who practically raises herself in her messed up life. Despite a lot of hardships Lily is able to pull herself up and make something out of herself. The story has a positive message for all the young people who are faced with awful challenges of life. There is always a way if you want to make it in this world.
Another offbeat neighborhood-type story from the author of *Banned.* M. K. Mafi knows the streets of Baltimore and its environs and tells tales of the people who struggle here to realize their loves and their potential. A schoolteacher who deals with all levels of society, the author builds authentic characterizations and lets us know about characters whose lives perhaps don't turn out exactly as they had planned. Definitely worth a read.
